Marie S. Rice

Hello visitors and friends of Marie...

On Sunday, May 4th, 2003, Marie Rice was called home to be with her Lord. Just the day before, she had spoken of her wish to go home, and that very night, God in His mercy granted Marie the desire of her heart, and took her home in her sleep.

Those of us who were blessed enough to have known her while she was with us are glad to know she is now with her first love, but are feeling a great sense of loss. She was truly an unforgettable character. She had a great sense of humor, and accomplished more after the age of 70 than many people do in a lifetime. Her spunk and creative drive were an inspiration. But more so was her intercessor's heart. She prayed more than anyone, and many of us were covered by her prayers often. We will never know the spiritual battles she fought on our behalf. She also got many of us praying for others, more than we would have without her influence.

Marie also wrote books and gave them away for free. Through her website [click here] she gave books away to people all over the world. People would ask, and Marie would package them up, and mail them with money from her own pocket. Airmail to India is not cheap, but it was worth it to her. She gave hundreds of books to people all over the world from dozens of countries. For all that she gave, only 3 people ever wrote her a thank you note. We will never know the lives that were influenced by Marie's books. All over the world.

Although Marie wrote wonderful books and plays and songs, it is her commitment to praying for others which is her most important legacy. We must all remember to pray. This generation needs more prayer warriors like Marie Rice. She is no longer with us, so we must take up our spiritual swords and carry on in her place. Now is the time.

We miss you, Marie. [Stay out of trouble up there.]
